And You Will Be Blessed

This is church for Max. He is: Welcomed. Wanted. Loved. Home. Indispensable. Church for my 27-year-old son with autism is pure unbridled worship, joy in the Lord, the fellowship of believers, and service unto Him.

This is God’s design for His Church: “When you give a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the blind, the lame, and you will be blessed.” Luke 14:13

Did you catch that? YOU will be blessed.

Years from now it will not matter if you remember me, or for that matter any of us in disability ministry. Instead, what matters is that you might remember a boy or girl, man or woman living with disability, who was loved and discipled by your home church, who served the Lord wholeheartedly, and whom God used to change the culture of your church, the health of your heart, and the depth of your faith.

What matters is that we make the Church the way God has designed it to be. And I know first hand, God’s design is beautiful.
